Skirting especially suitable for use with self-levelling concrete floor covers gap between wall and floor. The skirting is folded into an L-shape from sheet metal and has the horizontal part (22) fixed to the floor (30), a self-levelling concrete floor in particular, and the vertical part (20) either fixed to the wall (28) or not fixed at all the skirting is slightly elastic facilitating the vertical part (20) to stay attached to the wall (28) even when the floor (30) expands or shrinks due to changes in the level of dampness/dryness inside the building. The vertical part (20) is extremely flat so that it is hardly noticeable when covered by a carpet (38).
