Machine for industrial peeling and washing of potatoes

It consists of a rotary disc (Figure 1) and a cutting belt (Figure 2). Both are provided with protuberances (Figure 3) with a specific geometry for producing on the skin of the potato the microcuts which give rise to peeling. In order to prevent the potato suffering violent blows, the process is carried out with the potato submerged in a volume of water. Washing is provided by micronozzles which project water under pressure 6 (Figure 0). Discharge of the potato and the excess residue takes place via doors designed for this purpose 7 and 8 (Figure 0), respectively. All the elements are manufactured from stainless steel in order to guarantee that the product to be processed is kept hygienic. This form of peeling by means of microcutting provides major advantages over the abrasion-peeling technique. <IMAGE>
