COVER MATERIAL COMPOSITION FOR GOLF BALL AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cover material compsn. which does not render the discoloration of a cover, provides a soft ball hitting feel and improves durability and repulsive property. SOLUTION: This cover material compsn. for golf balls consists of an ionomer resin, diene rubber and a non-staining aging preventive agent. The diene rubber is dispersed at a particle size of <=5μm in the ionomer resin. The process for producing the same consists in kneading 50 to 90 pts.wt. ionomer resin, 10 to 50 pts.wt. diene rubber and 0.1 to 5 pts.wt. non-staining aging preventive agent under shutting off of air at 130 to 260 deg.C.
