PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify retrieval operation by performing retrieval while utilizing a partial character string when a character string defined as the target of retrieval is displayed as that partial character string of the other character string. SOLUTION: While referring to character strings stored in a display reference character string storage part 102, the character string to be displayed is extracted from a dictionary 101 and displayed on a display part 104. A certain character string is selected out of character strings displayed on the display part 104 while using a character string selecting part 105. Next, the starting position of the partial character string as the object of ordering is changed while using an integral section character string starting position change part 106. The character string having a partial character string closest to the changed partial character string is retrieved and defined as a character string for acquiring one part of the dictionary 101 displayed on the display part 104. Thus, even when the target character string is started halfway in a displayed character string, the target character string is not retrieved again but the target character string can be retrieved while utilizing the displayed character string. |
