<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize a rubber crawler as resource without causing any environmental pollution by burning rubber contained in the rubber clawler to obtain auxiliary quantity of heat for steelmaking and also utilizing metal contained in the rubber clawler as steelmaking material. SOLUTION: The used rubber clawler 1 discharged as industrial waste are fed into a charging basket 4 together with scrap iron 2 and limestone 3 as they are without being separated into a metal part and a rubber part. And the materials fed into the charging basket 4 are fed into a metal dissolving electric furnace 5 by operating the charging basket 4, and by the action of a high temperature arc generated from an electrode of the electric furnace 5, rubber contained in the rubber clawler 1 is burned in a high temperature atmosphere in the electric furnace 5 to generate auxiliary quantity of heat for steelmaking. On the other hand, metal contained in the rubber clawler 1 is utilized as steelmaking material.</p> |
