<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance assembling workability by preventing damage to a tailgate outer and a tailgate inner when a link for connecting together the locking and unlocking mechanisms of a tailgate is set in the tailgate. SOLUTION: This structure is so formed that a locking mechanism 10 for locking a tailgate 1 to the side plate of a vehicle carrier is provided on each side of the tailgate 1 along the cross direction of a vehicle, the tailgate 1 comprising a tailgate outer 16 and a tailgate inner 17; a lock releasing mechanism 3 for releasing the lock of the tailgate 1 to the side plate achieved by the locking mechanism 10 is provided at the center of the tailgate 1 along the cross direction of the vehicle, the locking mechanism 10 and the lock releasing mechanism 3 capable of being connected together by a link 15'.
