摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the light-weight liquid crystal display device having high reflectance without parallax by using liquid crystals driven by two frequencies, changing the frequency, utilizing the fact that the dielectric constant anisotropy of the respective liquid crystals becomes positive or negative in the liquid crystals for respectively changing orientation within an xy plane and in a (z) axis direction by an application voltage, combining them and independently driving the liquid crystals of respective color layers. SOLUTION: On the same substrate, a pair of electrodes 9 are formed parallelly to a (y) axis and a pair of the electrodes 10 are formed parallelly to an (x) axis. In the case of driving only an R liquid crystal 6 first, the voltage of the frequency ν1 for making the dielectric constant anisotropy be negative to the R liquid crystal 6 and making the dielectric constant anisotropy be almost 0 to a G liquid crystal 5 is applied to the electrodes parallel to the (y) axis. In the case of driving only the G liquid crystal 5, the voltage of the frequency V2 for making the dielectric constant anisotropy be almost 0 to the R liquid crystal 6 and making the dielectric constant anisotropy be positive to the G liquid crystal 5 is put on the voltage of driving the R liquid crystal and applied. In such a manner, by using the liquid crystals driven by the two frequencies, two colors are independently controlled by a pair of the electrodes.
