FIELD: aeronautical engineering. SUBSTANCE: spacer block is used in spar 108 of helicopter articulated main rotor. Spacer block consists of first and second members (20, 22) and device for spacing them. Each member of spacer block has thrust surface with profile mating to the profile of respective inner surface of spar, as well as first and second bevelled surfaces. For strutting off the spacer block of spar, use is made of removable wedge 40 having first section and section at constant angle of inclination whose bevelled surface are inclined at angle which are adjacent relative to angle of inclination of first bevelled surfaces of spacer block members. Prior to mounting the thrust surfaces of spacers, bevelled surfaces of section of removable wedge 40 at constant angle of inclination and spacer block with thrust surfaces engageable with inner surface of spar limiting its cavity are coated with adhesive paste and mounted in cavity of spar. Then pulling force is applied to section of removable wedge having constant thickness causing relative sliding of its bevelled surfaces and first bevelled surfaces of spacers which results in strutting off the members of spacer and bringing their thrust surfaces in tight contact with inner surface of spar.
