PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assort a variety of capacitors over a wide capacitance range by providing trenches into a component contg. electrodes in a dielectric so that the electrodes are partly exposed. SOLUTION: The capacitor comprises terminals 11, 12 at both ends of a component 10 having electrodes 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 inside, trenches 13 formed so that these electrodes are partly exposed, and protective material 14 disposed in the trenches 13. The electrodes 15-17 in the body 1 are electrically connected to the terminal 11 and those 18-20 are electrically bonded to the terminal 12, thereby assorting a variety of capacitors over a wide capacitance range, allowing the capacitance to be changed, and hence increasing mounting speed without changing the shape and material. |
