APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING TUBULAR ARTICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the molding time of a glass pipe to enhance productivity by enhancing the mold releasability of a tubular article and applying the tubular article to a cylindrical member being a core body to reheat the same. SOLUTION: A soln. of a material is uniformly applied to the surface of a first tubular member 1 to form a coating layer and the formed coating layer is heated until it can hold at least the strength as a tubular article to be taken out and this taken-out coating layer is arranged to a second cylindrical member 12 to be reheated and the tubular article is taken out of the second cylindrical member 12 to be molded. In this apparatus and method for producing the tubular article, the first cylindrical member 1 is constituted of a glass hollow cylindrical member.
