The present invention pertains to telecommunication systems. The invention proposes to furnish a method and a system of new type, by means of which an outgoing message traffic between mobile telephone sets and/or a mobile telephone set and a service provider according to present mobile telephone standards can be encrypted and the received message traffic can be decoded. Furthermore, the method and the system according to the invention make it possible to send and receive encrypted messages to a closed recipient group within a particular region. <IMAGE>
