PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the emission efficiency by providing a second bulkhead arranged, in the direction crossing the direction for arraigning a plurality of first bulkheads on the surface facing opposite to a second substrate. SOLUTION: A second bulkhead 50 extends in a first direction and crosses a first bulkhead 29, and it is formed of the same material as the first bulkhead 29. In its structure, ultraviolet rays can be emitted to phosphors 28 adhered to each of facing first and second side surface parts 29w1, 29w2 of the adjacent first bulkheads 29, 29 and to phosphors 28 adhered to facing third and fourth side surface parts 50w3, 50w4 of the adjacent second bulkheads 50, 50, and particularly, to the latter phosphors 28 before the intensity loss of ultraviolet ray is increased by increasing the repeated frequency of discharge or by extending the advancing distance of propagation and diffusion of ultraviolet ray. Therefore, the dose of the ultraviolet ray absorbed by the phosphors 28 is increased sharply, and the emission efficiency in conversion from ultraviolet ray to visual light is surely improved, so that the luminance of display light can be improved. |
