<p>The invention concerns a process for preparing norbornene and derivatives thereof, comprising subjecting cyclopentadiene and a dienophile to a Diels-Alder reaction in the presence of a heterogeneous catalyst, such as a Y zeolite. At the reaction conditions of the present invention, a product of high purity can be obtained and also symmetrical unsaturated chemical compounds can be used as dienophiles with conversions of commercial significance.</p> |
