FIELD: mechanical engineering; exhaust systems of internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: muffler has housing, branch pipe and partitions. Mainly rectangular section housing has one longitudinal weld. Branch pipes are pipe lengths with clots. { partitions are made by punching with simultaneously bending of two corners to form bent off members. Assembling of muffler comes to fitting partitions (10 - 20 pcs) into housing with turning of adjacent partitions through 180 deg relative to each other. Thanks to it interrupter channel and chambers (10-20- pcs) for passage of exhaust gases are formed. EFFECT: reduced noise level owing to multiple division of gas flow and screening of sound waves. 2 dwg
