METHOD OF DETECTING PANCREAS PATHOLOGIC STATES

FIELD: medicine, particularly, oncology; applicable in diagnosis and treatment of malignant tumors of parenchymatous organs. SUBSTANCE: method includes positron emission tomography with use of 11C sodium butyrate which is administered by intravenous injection in the amount of 250-400 MBq. Presence of produced image of pathologic focal increase of accumulation of 11C sodium butyrate in pancreas of not less than 20% as compared with that in liver tissue is diagnosed as malignant tumor. In case of presence of focal reduction of accumulation by at least 20% as compared with that in liver tissue, benign tumor is diagnosed. Presence of pathologic diffusion reduction of accumulation is indicative of chronic pancreatitis. EFFECT: higher accuracy of diagnosis of pancreas pathologic states at low radiation load exerted on patients.
