The pump's piston(42) is made of plastic and on its end face facing the eccentric element(64) has recess(52) which is open on the eccentric element side. An eccentric cylindrical run-on component(56) made of wear-resistant material fits in the recess, whereby the piston lies against the circumference of the eccentric element by the run-on component. The run-on component is pressed into the recess in the piston by forming an increase in the piston's wall thickness in the region of the recess.
