PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic ticket examination machine, which reduces congestion for ticket examination and simplifys the handling of passenger tickets, and a method by which the adjustment of fare with this automatic ticket examination machine is performed. SOLUTION: This automatic ticket examination machine collects plural passenger tickets to adjust the fare and returns an adjusted passenger ticket to a passenger when the passenger gets on. For example, when a passenger ticket A for the fare of (m) yen from a station X and a passenger ticket B for the fare of (n) yen from an arbitrary station Y within the section for the passenger ticket A are thrown to the automatic ticket examination machine, the section where traveling is allowed for the passenger ticket A is rewritten to the section of (m+n) yen from the station X. Only the passenger ticket A where the section is rewritten is returned to the passenger, and the passenger ticket B is recovered into the automatic ticket examination machine. |
