PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize a traveling speed at the part of an air bag projecting to an occupant side at the time of inflating the air bag, till the inflation is over, and to regularize a contact initial pressure to the occupant in occupant restraint midway in the inflation, even if the occupant takes his seat as coming nearer or more distant to or from an air bag system. SOLUTION: An air bag system M inflates an air bag 4 to operate a second inflater 9 after operation of a first inflater 8. A delay time D of the second inflater 9 to be delayingly operated after operation of the first inflater 8 is set up to the specified value through which it is composed. In addition, the air bag system M, as a mass flow rate value of inflating gas flowing into the air bag 4, operates so as to almost constantly maintain a peak value at the time of an gradual increment after the operation of the second inflater 9, till the time of a gradual decrement after the operation of the second inflater 9 is starting. |
