<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag expansion control device capable of suppressing the excessive compression to the breast of an occupant by changing the difference in constraining condition between the driver's seat and the front passenger seat by sitting position, and controlling the two-stage ignition timing. SOLUTION: This device comprises a driver's seat dual stage inflator 11 for providing a two-stage expanding output by two-stage ignition, which is provided in the front of a driver's seat 3, an front passenger seat dual stage inflator 23 for providing a two-stage expanding output by two-stage ignition, which is provided in the front of a front passenger seat 4, a driver's seat position detecting system 35 for detecting the occupant position sitting in the driver's seat 3, a front passenger seat detecting system 39 for detecting the occupant position sitting in the front passenger seat 4, and an air bag control unit 21 for independently changing the second stage ignition timing of each of driver's seat and front passenger seat air bag devices 19, 20, according to the occupant sitting position detected by each system 35, 39.</p> |
