<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a microorganism support that can increase the capacity of waste water treatment and reduce the running costs in no need of the modification of the installation and is useful for the treatment of waste water from food industry and slaughter houses. SOLUTION: This support is made of a water-permeable nonwoven fabric sheet having a multilayer structure of a hollow cone which is bent, and a part containing the bent top of which is removed and has the openings on both of the top and bottom face sides. The bending angle of the cone is 10-150 deg.C and the area ratio of the top opening (Al) and the bottom opening (A2) A1/A2 is 1-95. In addition, this microorganism support is equipped with a pipe line for spraying chemicals, a heating element or a pipe line for dispersing air or gas. In a preferred embodiment, this organism-carrying support is used to subject the waste water containing the organic compound to the biological treatment.</p> |
