<p>The present invention relates to methods for detecting interactions between two proteins as well as detecting the modulation of those interactions. The present invention is based upon the discovery of a new non-nuclear system utilizing G protein gamma subunit fusions to detect the interactions between two proteins and is particularly useful for the detection of the interaction between two or more proteins wherein one of the proteins is associated with the cell membrane. Related methods, compositions and kits can be used to detect or assay the interactions between essentially any two proteins that can be expressed in a cell.</p> |
