<p>A reflection color liquid crystal display including an STN liquid crystal element (20) in which a nematic liquid crystal (6) twist-oriented by 180° to 270° is interposed between a first transparent substrate (1) having a first transparent electrode (3) and a second transparent substrate (2) having a second transparent electrode (4), color filters (7) of different colors provided to the first or second substrate, an absorption polarizing plate (11) disposed on the viewed side of the second substrate (2) through a phase plate (12), a diffusion layer (13), a reflection polarizing plate (14), and a light absorption layer (15) the latter three being provided in order on the opposite side to the viewed side. Bright high-contrast good-color display is realized.</p> |
