ELECTRONIC MAIL SYSTEM AND ELECTRONIC MAIL TRANSMISSION AND RECEPTION CONTROLLER FOR VISUALLY HANDICAPPED PERSON

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a visually handicapped person to easily understand his received documents by using an information processor which converts the KANJI (Chinese character) and KATAKANA (square form of Japanese syllabary) characters included in the transmitted documents into HIRAGANA (cursive form of Japanese syllabary) characters and then into braille and transmits the converted documents after proofreading. SOLUTION: An electronic mail which is transmitted by a transmitting person is stored in a memory area 104 via an I/F part 101. A transceiver 100 receives the electronic mail to collate its destination with a list of destinations already stored in the area 104 and transmits the incoming notification to a visually handicapped person in the data converted into braille. The visually handicapped person accesses the transceiver 100 based on the received notification to load the stored electronic mail into a processing part 102, converts all KANJI and KATAKANA characters into KANA (Japanese syllabary) characters and also performs again the conversion if the first conversion is wrong. The sentences converted into KANA characters are converted into braille based on a prescribed rule, turned into digital signals and transmitted to the visually handicapped person via an I/F part 107 and displayed in braille via a receiving person's processor 108.
