HUMAN LH PRODUCED BY RECOMBINATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new human LH havingα-subunit andβ-subunit with Met and Val at the 42-site and 55-site of theβ-subunit, respectively, by genetic engineering technique, (i.e., gene recombination) with eukaryocytes as host cells. SOLUTION: This new human LH is such one as to haveα-subunit andβ-subunit with Met and Val at the 42-site and 55-site of theβ-subunit, respectively, and be obtained by gene recombination. The above process is a version of those using genetic engineering technique for producing biological heteropolymer proteins each composed of a plurality of subunits, also enabling production of human chorionic gonadotropic hormone(hCG) or the like having human reproduction-related medical applications. This human LH is obtained by the following procedure: a heterologous DNA encoding the aforementioned subunits of the human LH is integrated into an expression vector and transduced into host cells consisting of eukaryocytes followed by expression in such a condition as not to be integrated into the chromosome of the host cells.
