<p>A process is provided for control of particle size in a fluid bed reactor for pyrohydrolysis of metal chlorides. The process involves adding a seed material to the bed wherein the addition rate of the seed material is defined by the equation: SR = DR x BSP/(SSP - BSP) wherein SR = seed addition rate, DR = metal oxide deposition rate, BSP = specific population of the bed material greater than 50 microns in size, and SSP = specific population of the seed material greater than 50 microns in size.</p> |
