This invention relates to the treatment of atherosclerosis via raising the level of HDL cholesterol by administration of a compound of formula (I), wherein R<1>, R<2> and R<3> are independently hydrogen, C1-C10 alkyl, or -(CH2)0-6Ar<1> where Ar<1> is phenyl, furanly, pyridinyl or thienyl, and Ar<1> is optionally substituted by halogen, cyano, nitro, C1-C6 alkyl, C1-C6 alkoxy, trifluoromethyl, C1-C6 alkoxycarbonyl, -CO2H or OH. |
