PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wear resistant NOx removal catalyst exhibiting an excellent NOx removal performance which is produced by highly densifying the catalyst to improve the abrasion resistance of the catalyst against dusts in exhaust gases and simultaneously suppressing the lowering of catalytic activities caused by the reduction of pores due to the densification of the catalyst. SOLUTION: The NOx removal catalyst, which is useful for removal of nitrogen oxides contained in exhaust gases containing dusts, contains, as a main component, titanium oxide having a specific surface area of 80-120 m<2> /g, in which particles having a specific surface area of <=20 m<2> /g and particle sizes of 1-100 μm are incorporated in a weight ratio of the titanium oxide to the particles of 95:5-85:15 (titanium oxide : the particles). The particles are at least the ones selected from the particles of titania, alumina, silica and silicon carbide. The oxides of molybdenum, tungsten or vanadium or a mixture thereof are also added to the catalyst as active components. |
