<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to accurately input coordinates even when a contact area is wide by preparing a coordinate detection mode for calculating the coordinates of data inputted from both of an input pen and an operator's finger and specifying the coordinates and switching the coordinate detection mode to the input pen or the operator's finger to use the mode. SOLUTION: When the surface of a touch panel 1 is depressed by an operator's finger 35, a contact area between upper and lower transparent resistance films is widended, and when the surface is depressed by the input pen, the contact area is reduced. In the case of detecting an X coordinate at the time of inputting an item by the finger 35, a switch element 8 is turned to a connected state by a control signal 7 from a control part 6 and a switch element 9 is turned to a non-connected state by a control signal 10 from the control part 6, so that a DC signal from the element 8 is impressed to an electrode 11 formed on the panel 1.
