ATM COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT AND ITS TRAFFIC CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the ATM communication equipment that quickly recovers from a congestion state, utilizes effectively a frequency band and suppresses deterioration in communication quality due to cell abort and to provide its traffic control method. SOLUTION: The ATM communication equipment that transfers and outputs an information part of a cell received from input lines 1-1-1-n to any of output lines 7-1-7-n decided based on contents of a header part of the cell 13 configured of a cell buffer that stores the information part of the cell received from the input lines based on a destination of the cell and the quality class of the cell and a control circuit that monitors the storage state of the cell buffer 4 based on the destination of the received cell and the quality class and controls write/ read to/from the cell buffer 4, the control circuit forms plural queues corresponding to the destination in the cell buffer 4 and the quality class and divides the band of each of the output lines 7-1-7-n into exclusive bands and standby bands for each of plural queues and assigns the standby bands to any of plural queues depending on the storage state to execute the read of the cell buffer 4.
