ELECTRIC MOTOR STALL PROTECTION SYSTEM

A motor stall protection circuit is provided for use with an alternating current motor having at least one field winding and a rotor coil winding. A sensed voltage is taken from across at least one of the field coils. This sensed voltage is connected to one or more relays or the like for interrupting power supply to the motor if an excessive voltage across the field coil is detected. The circuit can include a relay and indication means configured to both interrupt the power supply and to provide an indication of both a normal state and an interrupted state.
