摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen the possibility of the generation of sparks and to improve safety by forming a bearing, an atomizing head, a hollow shaft for mounting the atomizing head and a coating material supply pipe of nonconductive materials and providing the front end of the coating material supply pipe with an electrode for high voltage impression. SOLUTION: A hollow shaft 3 for freely rotatably supporting an air bearing 2 by supplying the pressurized air from a rear part to the inner periphery of the bearing is rotationally driven at a high speed by an air motor 4 in the rear part. An atomizing head 5 of a bell type is mounted at the front end of the hollow shaft 3. The air bearing 2, the hollow shaft 3, the atomizing head 5 and the coating material supply pipe 6 are composed of the nonconductive materials. A liquid coating material from a coating material supply pipe 6 is pulverized by the high-potential electrostatic field between an electrode 11 at the front end of a conductor wire 10 connected to a high-voltage generator 9 built in a main body 1, which end projects from the front end of the coating material supply pipe 6 and the material to be coated and the material to be coated is coated with the material. The electrode 11 for impressing the high voltage to the coating material is parted from the atomizing head 5. As a result, even if the atomizing head 5 approaches a grounding object, the sparks are hardly generated and the coating gun having a small electrostatic capacity and the high safety is obtd.</p>
