SUPPORTING BODY HAVING THERMALLY STABLE BASE COATING LAYER FOR IMAGE FORMING ELEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve adhesion property of a base coating after annealing by subjecting a supporting body coated with a gelatin base coating layer to heat treatment so as to decrease the core-set curling tendency of a polymer film and adding a specified compd. into the gelatin base coating compounded material. SOLUTION: The supporting body comprises a polyester polymer film coated with a base coating layer which contains gelatin and a polyvalent org. compd. having at least three hydroxyl groups. The supporting body coated with the gelatin base coating layer is heat treated so as to decrease the core-set curling tendency of the polymer film. The heat treatment is carried out by exposing the supporting body coated with the gelatin base coating layer to a temp. between 50 deg.C and the glass transition temp. of the polymer film for 0.1 to 1500 hours. The polyvalent org. compd. includes glycerol, sorbitol or pentaerythritol.
