The invention relates to a method of managing traffic information relating to at least one road network, comprising the collecting of traffic information from a set of tracker vehicles (10, 20, 30) travelling around the road network. The method of the invention comprises steps of: dynamic selection of a number of tracker vehicles authorized to transmit traffic information collected to a remote traffic application server (40), from among the set of travelling tracker vehicles, transmission by the remote traffic application server (40) of an order inhibiting transmission to tracker vehicles (10, 20, 30) that are not authorized to transmit, conditional transmission of the traffic information collected by the tracker vehicles authorized to transmit, according to preestalished criteria for uploading information to the traffic application server (40), and establishment of a traffic flow model (42) on the basis of the traffic information transmitted. |
