PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electrophotographic photoreceptor having good electrification characteristics by incorporating at least an electron donating compd. and an electron accepting compd. into the surface layer of a photosensitive layer and electrifying the photoreceptor with an electrifying member in contact with the surface layer. SOLUTION: In this electrophotographic photoreceptor having a photosensitive layer formed on a conductive supporting body, the surface layer of the photosensitive layer contains at least an electron donating compd. and an electron accepting compd., and the photoreceptor is electrified with an electrifying member in contact with the surface layer. Any material can be used for the conductive base body as far as it has conductivity, and for example, metals such as aluminum and stainless steel, or paper and plastics with a conductive layer formed can be used. As for the electron donating compd., aromatic compds. having elements such as N, P, O, S orπ-electron conjugate compds. are used, and for example, aromatic amines and aromatic methanes can be used. As for the electron accepting compds., for example, quinones, aromatic nitro compds. dicyanomethylene compds., and aromatic halides can be used. |
