PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image restoring function which has superior coloring and resolving power at the time of image restoration by converting a color- separated image to luminosity and chromaticity components, subdividing a pixel of interest, and restoring a distribution of luminosity components in the pixel of interest by distributing the luminance components of the pixel of interest into the subdivided pixels of interest, according to a distribution of luminosity components of adjacent pixels. SOLUTION: A Lab conversion part 3 converts the image components of B, G and R separated by a color CCD 1 into a Lab space, consisting of luminosity and coloring. An image restoration part 4 subdivides the pixel of interest of the image data from the Lab conversion part 3 and restores luminosity and chromaticity components in the subdivided pixels of interest, according to the distribution of luminosity components and chromaticity components of adjacent pixels. The restored image data are returned into R, G and B data by a Lab reverse conversion part 15. Consequently, the resolving power image input can be improved, as compared to that at the image input. |
