<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip type fuse resistor wherein, with simple structure and less processes, a stable anti-surge characteristics against a fusing characteristics is provided, and no fuming or combustion takes place even at heating under abnormal excessive load, with wide freedom in complete resistance value. SOLUTION: Resistance film R and a protective film 4 are formed by thick- film grazing with an area resistance value of a central part R1 of the resistance film R higher than an area resistance value of a both end parts R2 while a direction turning point 3' and an end point 3" of a trimming groove 3 applied to the resistance film R are positioned at both end parts R2. Since a softening- point temperature of the glass component of the protective film 4 is lower than that of the glass component of the central part R1, the joule heat caused by an excessive current at abnormal excessive load is concentrated on the central part R1, and the heat melts the protective film 4 and then the central part R1. The flow and dispersion of glass components due to the melting cut off a circuit.</p> |
