PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily obtain artificial stone for pavement provided with natural feeling and designability by incorporating a liquid slag of incinerated ash from sewage sludge/municipal garbage with a specific amount of low-fire-resistant clay mineral and water followed by kneading and molding the mixture and then baking the molded product. SOLUTION: This artificial stone is obtained by the following process: 100 pts.wt. of water-granulated slag produced by fusing incinerated ash from sewage sludge/municipal garbage is incorporated with >=20 pts.wt. of low-fire-resistant clay mineral and a coloring pigment; water is then added to the resulting mixture followed by, if needed, incorporating the mixture with, e.g. sodium silicate as an alkali metal oxide serving as a binder; the resulting mixture is kneaded so as to be afforded with plasticity; the mixture thus kneaded is packed into a mold followed by pressing to effect molding into a flat plate of artificial stone shape, which, in turn, is dried and then baked at 600-1,200 deg.C. Since the above-mentioned water-granulated slag itself contains various color ingredients, addition of a small amount of the above pigment affords the artificial stone of dark gray color feeling with appearance of repose.
|
