PACKED-BED TYPE BIOLOGICAL DEODORIZER AND ITS CLEANING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorizer and its cleaning method by which a packed bed is stably cleaned in the packed-bed type biological deodorizer. SOLUTION: A malodorous gas is passed through a packed bed formed by packing a microorganism holding carrier in a packed tower and deodorized in this packed-bed type biological deodorizer. The deodorizer is provided with a pressure difference detection means 5 for detecting the pressure difference between the malodorous gas inlet and outlet of the packed bed and water sprinkling means 3a, 3b, 4a and 4b for sprinkling water toward the packed bed and arranged at the upper part and/or the lower part of the packed bed in the packed tower and a control means 20 for controlling the operation of the water sprinkling means referring to the pressure difference measured by the means 5 in accordance with the specified operating condition.
