PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic parts mounting apparatus and method, wherein a parts feeder is provided on a table in parallel thereto, a chip is picked up, transported and mounted on a substrate by a transportation head, and which can easily exchange the parts feeder. SOLUTION: Under a condition that an electronic parts supply part 20 comes close to a guide rail 12 of a substrate 3, a chip 8 of a parts feeder 60 on a base parts 21 is picked up and mounted on the substrate 3 by a transportation head 14. When the chip 8 of the parts feeder 60 is out of stock, the base part 21 is retreated from the guide rail 12, the table 50 on the base part 21 is collected, and the table 50 of an auxiliary table part 40 is slid to the base part 21 for replenishment. Next the base part 21 is moved close to the guide rail 12 and mounting of the chips 8 is restarted. |
