<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep treatment capacity in a water treatment method and apparatus by aeration type gravel purification, to allow excessive sludge generated between gravels to flow out of the system aerlier and to prevent the spoilage of sludge or the clogging between gravels to enhance treatment capacity. SOLUTION: A water tank is divided into a plurality of purifying areas 11, 12, 13 and a final stage single sludge area 14, and gravels 2 and air diffusers 3 are arranged to the purifying areas 11, 12, 13 and water is allowed to flow successively from the upstream side and treated water is introduced into the sludge area 14 to sediment sludge to allow supernatant water to flow out and aeration is collectively performed in the purifying areas 11, 12, 13 successively and cyclically from the upstream area.</p> |
