PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject safe preparation, having an excellent skin roughness-improving action, and useful for improving and preventing various kinds of skin diseases accompanying skin roughness and the skin roughness and roughened skins of healthy persons by adding a royal jelly extract and a specific plant extract. SOLUTION: This skin preparation contains (A) a royal jelly extract, for example, obtained by immersing or thermally refluxing royal jelly in an extraction solvent such as ethanol and subsequently concentrating the extract solution, and (B) the extract of one or more plants selected from Houttuynia cordata, Thea sinensis and cherry leaves (for example, the leaves of Prunus donarium). The components A and B are preferably contained in 0.01-5 wt.% and 0.01-1 wt.%, respectively, based on the total dry weight of the preparation. The component B is obtained, for example, by immersing or thermally refluxing the plants in an extraction solvent such as ethanol and subsequently concentrating the obtained extract solution. The preparation is useful for skin lotions, milky lotions, etc.
