PURPOSE: A method of manufacturing a solid state pick-up device is provided to prevent a false signal or a smear. CONSTITUTION: A method of manufacturing a solid state pick-up device comprises the steps of: forming a first photoelectric conversion region(14) having an electric conductivity opposite to that of a silicon substrate(10); and forming a second region(32) composed of silicide forming the periphery of the first photoelectric conversion region(14) in the first photoelectric conversion region(14).
