REFLECTIVE LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display is provided to increase a view angle and secure sufficient light availability for a change of a external light. CONSTITUTION: The liquid crystal display comprises: (a)a upper substrate; (b)a lower substrate; (c)a liquid crystal cell with a liquid crystal layer formed between the upper substrate and the lower substrate; (d)a substrate film located in the upper substrate side of the liquid crystal cell; (e)a light reflex mean located in the lower substrate side of the liquid crystal cell; and (f)a optical member located between the substrate film and the liquid crystal and having a retardation axis. In the device, the angle between a absorption axis of the substrate film and the retardation axis of the optical member is in the range of about from 88 to 92 degree or from -2 to 2 degree.
