<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit a user to navigate a complicated menu structure on a small display screen by applying a large character in one of a plurality of rows and applying small fonts (characters) in remaining rows. SOLUTION: A display 2 is generated on the screen of 80×40 pixels so that five rows (rows 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12) of KANJI (Chinese character) menu item can be displayed. A selected center menu item 8 is emphatically displayed and is displayed by the peculiar font of 15×14 pixels. In the remaining rows 4, 6, 10 and 12, the characters are displayed by the smaller semi-optimized fonts of 11×12 pixels. In the menu item 4 of the highest stage, a top part is cut by removing the upper half and a base is cut by removing the lower half in the menu item 12 of the lowest stage.</p> |
