<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit device and method to shut off an electric energy source for a vehicle to maintain the shutoff function as the safety conditions. SOLUTION: A load device of a vehicle is supplied with electric energy from an electric energy source, and in the event of failure, the two switch elements 2 and 3 are opened to generate shut-off of all electrodes in case the failure is due to these switch elements, when one of the switch elements 3 constitutes an operational switch, and thereby the electric energy source can be shut off in normal operation, and the electric energy source of the vehicle is shut off. If first the drive current of a motor is sunk and the drive current is lowered (318), shut-off in the vehicle to operate with the motor is performed in normal operation by opening the operational switch.
