PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for evaluating water quality by which the eluting behavior of an impurity from an ion exchange resin used for purifying a condensate can be evaluated quantitatively by simulating the actual service condition. SOLUTION: In a method for evaluating water quality, the eluting behavior of an impurity which is an inorganic functional group, such as the sulfonic acid, etc., contained in the total organic carbon(TOC) or organic matters from an ion exchange resin 13 in an actual plant is predicted by incorporating a column 3 filled up with the ion exchange resin 13 in a closed-loop circulating device simulating the operating condition of the actual plant and circulating specimen water by supplying the water to the circulating device, and then, finding the eluting speed of the impurity from the resin 13. A device for evaluating water quality is provided with a specimen water storing tank 1, a circulating pump 2, a heat exchanger, the column 3 filled up with the resin 13, and a sampling spot 4 and simulates the water circulation in the actual plant by circulating the specimen water from the tank 1 through the column 3 by means of the pump 3. |
