<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to remove flicker and after-image and to simplify circuit constitution by providing a gate driver or the like capable of outputting one of a first voltage and a second voltage and allowing the first voltage to change before continued gate signal lines are activated. SOLUTION: The device has a data driver 32 for driving signal lines SL1-LSm provided on a liquid crystal panel 30 and a gate driver 34 for driving gate lines GL1-GLn provided on the liquid crystal panel 32. Further, relating to this active matrix liquid crystal display device, the falling part of scanning signal is changed in a form selected from linear, exponential and step functions by supplying a high gate voltage to a level shift of the gate driver 34 in the alternating current form. Thereby, a field through voltage is sufficiently suppressed and then formation of flicker and after-image can be avoided and, at the same time, the circuit constitution is extremely simplified.</p> |
