PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device constituted so that light can be efficiently utilized for illuminating a liquid crystal display panel and a digital camera using this liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device is provided with the liquid crystal display panel 10, external light 21 and a back light 22 illuminating the panel 10, a light adopting window 31 adopting the light 21, a light guiding plate 30 guiding the light 21 and the light of the back light 22 to the panel 10, a reflection plate 40 and a cover 50 freely opened and closed so as to cover the upper surface of the window 31. Since the cover 50 can be closed when the light 21 is not required, the light from the back light 22 is not radiated outside the liquid crystal display device 1 from the window 31. Besides, since the mirror of a metallic film is used for the window 31 side of the cover 50, the light from the back light 22 is reflected on the cover 50 and utilized for illuminating the panel 10. The display device 1 can be used as the picture display means of the digital camera and the power consumption of the digital camera is reduced. |
