PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize the shape of an object to be recognized stably and quickly without being affected by the patterns in the object to be recognized or an image which is not to recognized. SOLUTION: A search performed with one of facing frame lines 3a and 3b of a recognition sight field frame 3 taken as a start line toward the other, for a picture information of the image taken in the recognition sight field frame 3 comprising a specific profile part of an object 1 to be recognized while sequentially performed from one end side of the frame line 3a which is a start line toward the other end side for detecting a line information P1 with aligned profile points P. Here, the recognition sight field frame is focused toward a background part 11a side from a position with a profile point P of an object 11b to be recognized on the frame line 3a, and based on the search result for the picture information of the image taken in the focused recognition sight field frame 31, the line information P1 is detected, for outline recognition. |
