PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a baking enamel enabling stable baking under a load even at a high temperature, having excellent coating characteristics and useful for the coating of wire, etc., by including a crosslinking agent such as a polyhydric alcohol capable of chemically crosslinking a thermoplastic polyamide under the action of heat. SOLUTION: This baking enamel contains a thermoplastic polyamide having aromatic structure and aliphatic structure and further contains a crosslinking agent composed of a polyhydric alcohol such as propylene glycol, a polyisocyanate such as toluene diisocyanate and a polyol and capable of chemically crosslinking the thermoplastic polyamide under the action of heat. The molar ratio of (aliphatic structure unit)/(aliphatic structure unit) is 60/40 to 50/50, preferably 56/44. An enameled wire is prepared preferably by applying the baking enamel 4 to an inner insulation layer 2 or to a coating layer 3 formed on the insulation layer 2. |
